Channel 103 has been named as Jersey’s most reputable media brand, also coming in the top five of all island businesses.
The latest Brand Reputation Index from Island Global Research shows that the overall reputation of organisations operating in the Channel Islands improved during the COVID-19 lockdown, compared to autumn last year.
The BRI monitors which brands resonate most with island residents – taking factors like trustworthiness, contributions to the community, and how likely people would be to recommend the business to a friend.
The latest data was collected April/May 2020 and is being compared to data collected in October 2019:
|1||Jersey Dairy||Guernsey Post|
|4||Jersey Post||Guernsey Dairy|
Channel 103 came out ahead of the Channel Islands’ other media organisations, with only the BBC local radio stations and ITV Channel Television making it into the top quintile.
Other businesses to score highly include British Airways, Guernsey Electricity, Guernsey Water, Jersey Electricity, Jersey Water, JT, LibertyBus, and Marks & Spencer.
Station Director, James Keen, said: “Jersey’s been living through some challenging times.
“Whether people tune in for news, music or simply for companionship, it’s never been more vital for Channel 103 to support its listeners and the island’s businesses.
“It’s heartening that islanders are trusting Channel 103 more than ever before – we never take our audience for granted and we’ll continue to provide a positive soundtrack to island life!”
