
Chairman: Brian Doel
Brian is also the Group Managing Director of Tindle Newspapers Ltd which owns more than 230 local newspaper titles and two radio stations, Radio Ceredigion in Wales and Delta Radio which broadcasts from Bordon, Hampshire.
Brian began his career in press as an editorial assistant in the early 1960s. He trained as a journalist, going on to work as a sub-editor, deputy editor and editor of various weekly newspapers titles, most independently-owned but some part of Express Newspapers and Mirror Group Newspapers. In 1978 he was appointed Marketing Director of the Mirror-owned West of England Newspapers. In his role there he helped manage the Mirror Journalist Training Scheme. He later led a management buy-out of the company in 1982. He remained there until 1990 when the newspaper was sold on and he left to join Tindle Newspapers.
At Tindle, Brian oversaw various local titles until 2003 when he became Group Managing Director.
Brian has had an ongoing interest in radio, dating back to the 1980s when he took a 10 percent shareholding in Plymouth Sound. In the 1990s he was part of the consortium which won the Bridgend Radio licence for Bridge FM. He was a founder director and oversaw Tindle Newspaper’s taking a majority shareholding, which was later commuted into Tindle Radio.
Finance Director / Acting Chief Executive: David Lovell
David Lovell is a qualified accountant and has over twenty years experience in running the financial side of radio stations. He provides accounts, information and support to all the Tindle Radio station managers.
He was appointed Financial Director of Tindle Radio in August 2001, and Managing Director of Dream 100. As Tindle Radio developed and David's finance workload grew, he moved away from day-to-day operations to become full-time Group Financial Director and now has an accounts team of eight.
Operations Director: Lyn Long
Lyn’s radio career started in 1984 when she joined Radio Broadland as a Sales Executive. After working her way up to Sales Director she moved to Capital owned FOX FM in 1995 becoming Managing Director in 1997. In 2000 she moved to London to become Brand Managing Director for Capital Gold and in 2002 was promoted to Regional Managing Director for the Capital FM Network.
In 2005 Lyn worked for GCap as Regional Managing Director of the South West before joining Tindle Radio in November 2006. Lyn is a highly commercial experienced radio operator, with a passion for local radio.
Technical Director: Simon Tims
Simon has 21 years experience in radio spanning presentation, programming management, music scheduling, commercial and station production, traffic, engineering and IT.
Responsible for all systems across the group, he also liases with the companies primary technology providers such as RCS, IRIS, Arqiva and Nasstar. Simon joined the Tindle Radio Board of Directors in October 2006.
